4. Keep Yourself Updated On Social Media Policies

 

One of the last things you want happening as a social media manager is having the accounts of your clients penalized on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and others.

 

It’s you duty to stay updated about the policies and terms of use on these platforms. The good news is that major changes don’t always happen. The platforms will also remind you when those changes are made so that you’re well aware of them.

 

Study the policies and adjust your strategy accordingly.

 

5. Don’t Bite Off More Than You Can Chew

 

Only accept projects that you can handle. You’re potentially putting the business of your client at stake if you’re not actually prepared to manage their social media channel.

 

The same goes for deadlines and expectations. Be upfront about the results you can achieve and when it’s possible to achieve those goals. Don’t set yourself up for failure as you can only hurt your career as a social media manager even further.
